Bestselling author Ivy Larson made the decision to “eat clean” and adopt a whole foods diet after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1998. Ivy’s husband, Andy Larson, M.D., was in medical school at the University of Pennsylvania at the time she was diagnosed and together the couple began researching nutrition. Both in their early twenties at the time of Ivy’s diagnosis, these two ex-processed food lovers soon found “eating clean” not only made Ivy feel better but also helped Andy (who is now a weight loss surgeon) lose weight without hunger, boost energy and lower his blood pressure.

After trying their whole foods based “eat clean” diet on the public with a series of Health and Body Makeover Programs and collecting hundreds of testimonials for a wide variety of inflammatory conditions (asthma, allergies, fibromyalgia, etc.), weight loss and high blood pressure, the couple decided to write their first book, the bestselling Gold Coast Cure.

Ivy and her husband have since authored the Gold Coast Cure’s Fitter, Firmer, Faster Program and Whole Foods Diet Cookbook. Dr. Larson and Ivy have received extensive national media exposure for their books including Time magazine, Good Morning America, Fox News, CNN, US News & World Report, Natural Health, Woman’s Day, etc.

Ivy is a healthy lifestyle coach, fitness instructor, whole foods recipe developer and cooking instructor. In addition to doing the recipe development for her own books, Ivy does recipe development for other authors and magazines.

Ivy currently teaches “Lifestyle Makeover” Programs providing nutrition seminars, wellness workshops and group exercise programs in south Florida. She teaches whole foods cooking classes at Whole Foods Market, Williams-Sonoma and In the Kitchen.

Ivy is a popular figure among top national media outlets, having graced the cover of Let’s Live, Healthy Living & PBG Lifestyle magazines. She has made regular appearances on Lifetime Television’s The Balancing Act where she hosted a 10-week “Lifestyle Makeover Program” based on her Gold Coast Cure book series.

Ivy holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University and is an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Health Fitness Specialist. She holds additional professional certifications as a fitness instructor and fitness testing specialist through the Fitness Institute International.

Ivy currently runs Clean Cuisine and More, a website designed to spoon-feed easy-to-follow, real world “clean-eating” recipes based on natural, nourishing foods plus step-by-step cooking video demos. The site is also filled to the brim with “More” including plenty of nutrition tips, simple food ideas, “clean eating” strategies for the whole family, healthy living product reviews, fitness advice and workout videos.
